What started as a dream to buy a home led Jenessa to get her real estate license. Today, we’re more than just partners in life—we’re a team in business.
We met a long time ago, working at a bar. I was bartending, and Dan was the bouncer. At the time, I was a single mom to Jackson and Bella. Life wasn’t easy, but there was something about Dan that felt safe and solid. We fell in love and, in 2012, we got married and began building a life together.
We welcomed two more kids—Landyn and Lacey—and like many young families, we set our sights on the American dream: buying our first home. Honestly, it was terrifying. We had no idea what we were doing. Between the debt and the lack of guidance, it felt like an uphill battle.
We worked on building our credit. Dan got a different job, and slowly, things started falling into place. Even though we had a REALTOR®, the whole process still felt uncertain––but we did it. We bought our first house.
Life moved on. Dan joined the laborer’s union and started working for a paving company and power plants. Things were stable. But deep down, something was stirring inside me. I found myself driving through neighborhoods, looking at houses, wondering what it would be like to live in something bigger. I wanted to upgrade, and more than that, I wanted to be the one to make it happen. That desire led me to get my real estate license.
Things were going great. We moved into a bigger home. The kids were growing fast, and both of us had steady careers. But then COVID hit—and it rocked everything. Our relationship was tested. I hit a breaking point.
Some might call it a breakdown, but for me, it was more of an awakening. I realized I’d been going through the motions of life with no real sense of purpose. I asked myself the big questions—“What am I doing with my life? Why am I here?”—and I didn’t have the answers.
I couldn’t even bring myself to answer the phone anymore. I shut down. I needed a break and a reset. But with only Dan’s income, things got hard fast. Really hard. We nearly lost our home. We sold everything we could just to afloat. But somehow, we found a way to hold on and avoid foreclosure.
In the middle of that chaos, I found clarity. I realized that my life’s purpose was love. The people in my life—Dan, our kids—they didn’t run when I fell apart. They stayed by my side. Dan fought for me, for our marriage, and for our home. When I talked about going back to a corporate job, Dan stopped me. He reminded me who I was: “You’re a REALTOR®. And a damn good one.”
So I started over, from the ground up––this time with a deeper sense of purpose. I wasn’t just doing it for us—I was doing it for others too. I wanted to give my clients everything I had. Dan, being the social butterfly he is, started promoting me everywhere. He was so good at it that eventually, he got his real estate license too. We became a team.
And because of everything we’ve been through—everything we’ve overcome—we now specialize in helping people who are on the brink of losing their homes. We know that edge well. But we also know you don’t have to fall off it. There are options. There is hope.
We’re living proof.
We partner with a trusted team of professionals—lenders, lawyers, and more—to help people save their homes. These are the same experts who supported us as we now guide others through that same process. Our strength lies in solving complex problems, especially tricky, non-traditional listings. We don’t shy away from a challenge—in fact, we thrive on them.
We go above and beyond to support clients, especially those moving out. From ordering dumpsters to helping de-clutter, we’re there to lighten the load and help them start fresh. We even roll up our sleeves to fix what’s needed inside the home—patching walls, painting, handling maintenance—so our clients can get the highest return possible when selling.
We believe two heads are better than one, and we pride ourselves on delivering results under pressure. When time is tight and foreclosure is looming, we move fast, organizing everything needed. Whether it’s refinancing or selling, we lay out clear options. Because we’ve been through it, we show up with compassion, expertise, and an unwavering commitment to helping our clients keep their homes—or start again with dignity.
Sincerely,
